Still one of my all time favourites, some people seem to dislike it for some reason but I loved it.

People like myself dislike it because of the lazy writing. Characters are quite shallow, Kirito has plot armour, Asuna is degraded to waifu status after the first arc, the story is basic, and the directing is mediocre at best. There are some people who hated it to try and be different, but there are enough people that recognise and take issue with all of its flaws that the community is very split.
