Plot

Tower of God centers around a boy called 'Twenty-Fifth Bam', who has spent most of his life trapped beneath a mysterious Tower, with only his close friend, Rachel, to keep him company. Thoughts

When I first read the plot of this manhwa, I can't help it compare to Sword Art Online (SAO), with all the reaching the top of the tower concept. But when I actually read the first chapters, it actually was quite different. Tower of God is more sophisticated and more thought out. Unlike other manga/manhwas where you need to read at least 10 chapters to get you hooked and appreciate them, Tower of God will get you hooked in the first chapter.

The characters in Tower of God has their different and interesting back stories. Sure some of it are predictable if you've read a handful of manga/manhwas, but it is certainly well though-out and totally fits the story line. As for character develpment, Baam(the Main Character) someone who has never experienced society and the presence of others evolves into someone who is dependable and somewhat leader-like. The struggles the characters are facing also mirrors reality, like would you kill someone just to advance to the next test and closer to your dreams?

The pacing of this manhwa is sometimes fast and sometimes slow, like they're taking way too much time in one floor, and then the next they'll end up immediately above 20+ floor. Like many manga/manhwas, this one also has it's ups and downs, which for me is a good thing. If a reader feels disappointed with how things are going, that means the readers care for the manhwa enough to be disappointed. The artstyle is also quite good considering that they are pubilishing weekly with a lot of pages. At present, Tower of God now has overr 286 Chapters.
