Today's pick in the Daily Anime Pick-Series where I pick one anime each day that I think is worth watching is Eromanga-sensei!

In contrast to most other animes of this type the title doesn't contain the word imouto but at least it gives you a clear impression on what the primary focus of this show is.

Eromanga-sensei is the pen name of Sagiri Izumi, the imouto of the protagonist Masamune Izumi. She likes to draw lewd illustrations of little girls and is doing this professionally for light novels. Her brother coincidentally is a light novel author and had his light novel's illustrations done by Eromanga-sensei although he is not aware that this is actually his little sister. They don't know about each others identities for some while since Sagiri has shut herself in her room and doesn't talk at all at the beginning. But as time goes they start to communicate with each other.

With several additional characters introduced along the way this anime makes the perfect cute-girls-gathering-around-male-protagonist experience. If you like that you're probably already watching but in case you're unsure have a look at the beautiful visuals below. Of course, if you're not into this type of show then it clearly isn't for you.

Description

One year ago, Sagiri Izumi became step-siblings with Masamune Izumi. But the sudden death of their parents tears their new family apart, resulting in Sagiri becoming a shut-in which cut her off from her brother and society.

While caring for what's left of his family, Masamune earns a living as a published light novel author with one small problem: he's never actually met his acclaimed illustrator, Eromanga-sensei, infamous for drawing the most lewd erotica. Through an embarrassing chain of events, he learns that his very own little sister was his partner the whole time!

As new characters and challenges appear, Masamune and Sagiri must now face the light novel industry together. Eromanga-Sensei follows the development of their relationship and their struggle to become successful; and as Sagiri slowly grows out of her shell, just how long will she be able to hide her true persona from the rest of the world?
