I have been out the anime game for years. Growing up I would watch Dragonball Z and Pokémon, most of the top anime shows that every one and their mother would watch. In 2001, I remember watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time on Adult Swim and instantly fell in love with the series. Other anime captured my heart at the time such as Samurai Champloo and Trigun. When I joined the Marines, my love for anime diminished. I would watch Cowboy Bebop here and there because I love it so much. It would be years since I would get in to anime.
My friend, knowing I was a anime fan awhile back told me he will get me back in to anime. I told him good luck. Then one day he told me about a anime called One Punch man. He told me the concept of the story, a superhero who has the power to destroy anything with one punch. He also told me to watch it because it had our type of humor. Again I was like, whatever.
One day I was watching Cowboy Bebop, again. Then it occurred to me, hey I should check out that One Punch Man. Thinking it was going have the nonsense of DBZ all about power ups and have a whole entire episode consisting of a character powering up, I check the Anime out. OMG, it was awesome!
The first season is short, but damn is it funny. It is about a superhero named Saitama, whom one day decides to become a hero. He trained so hard for two years that his hair fell off, and a regimen that consisted of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10 km run every single day, He eventually gets he power of one punch! The only problem? He hates it because it is boring to him. He wants action and adrenaline. His face is priceless as well with a perplex look the whole time, that until he becomes serious. The story line is off the wall and I totally recommend this show to any anime lover or any one that wants a good laugh
