Hello my dear Steemians! I'm feeling much better now and felt like painting, so in this post I'm going to show you an anime painting. It's been a while since I painted an anime character since I usually just use colored pencils in coloring them. However, there is this character from a certain anime that I have been longing to draw. And as the title says, he's called:

Todoroki Shoto of Boku no Hero Academia.

About the anime and the character

In the anime "Boku No Hero Academia", around 80% of the people started to develop some "quirks". This so-called quirks are like superpowers. They give ordinary humans the ability to manipulate elements, shapeshift into something, etc. Of course, the remaining 20% of humanity are powerless including the main character.

Todoroki Shoto, on the other hand is gifted with two amazing quirks. He is considered half-hot and half-cold. Well, personality-wise, he is such a cold individual but damn he's effin' hot! Oops... sorry~ I got carried away... Anyway, going back, this character is one of the strongest. He's actually my favorite character in this anime.

Of course, I'll be showing you the steps as to how I came out with this artwork. So sit back and enjoy!

What materials did I use?

Since I decided to paint, I used my watercolor pad. This is a gift for myself last Christmas and this is the first time that I'm using it. hihihi~

I took the picture of the materials after using them, so it's a bit messy. Well, you can see there my mechanical pencil, eraser, watercolor, brush, water and sponge.

Here's the Process~! ^^

First, I outlined the character using my mechanical pencil. As usual, my sketch is so messy. Please forgive me...

Next up, I outlined it using black paint. Inking is much easier than painting, however, it's okay to make slight mistakes in painting. It wouldn't be "that" obvious.

As I have mentioned earlier, Todoroki is half-hot and half-cold. So, I decided to paint the "hot" part first. He has this ugly scar on his "hot side", if you watch the anime, you'll know the reason behind it. Just prepare your heart for it.

Then, the "cold-part" as well as the remaining visible skin. One thing I love about painting is that, you can play with the colors. Painting is lots of fun!

I playfully colored the uniform. As you can see, there are some "colorless" part, but later on you'll see no colorless spot at all..

Playing with red, orange and yellow as background. That's one of his powers, FIRE~!

Various shades of blue on the "cold-side". That's another power of his, ICE~! I don't usually follow a single stroke when I'm painting.. I just have fun.. hihi ^^
