"Powering Down, But I’m Not Leaving"

in announcement •  last month

Ah, I never thought I’d have to write something like this. But, you know, sometimes life throws you curveballs, and in those moments, there’s not much you can do. Anyone who has come across this blog post (even though it’s short notice) might have already guessed what it’s about. I won’t drag it out any further—I just want to let everyone know that I’m not going anywhere. I simply needed some urgent cash, which is why I’m powering down 50% of my account. I understand the rules around club status are more flexible now, but still I’ll wait (if I have to) and as soon as I regain my club status, I’ll start posting again. I really hope this won’t affect the support I’ve received from the Steemit team, as I feel quite bad about this powerdown.

Don't feel bad, please! You don't owe anyone the observance of supposed rules - at the price of your own difficulties! All the best to you and I hope you have everything under control! Please get in touch if things get difficult... And keep writing! It does not depend on your club status whether you are read.

Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words! It truly means a lot to hear this. If you say so, I’ll resume writing after my powerdown, which I planned to end in 3 weeks, when I expect to reach the 50% target.

As for club status, I think it may take around 3 months to regain club status, though I’m not sure. But regardless, I’ll start writing again. Your encouragement is a real motivator!

In the meantime, I’ll continue my moderation duties through the community account.

You don't have to wait to come back to a club but you can continue writing. I am not sure why did you decide to power down but that's your choice. I would wait to see your next post as and when you find something worth writing.

Thanks for your concern. I actually initiated the powerdown because I needed some funds. My original plan was to power down only 50%, but since the current price of Steem is quite low, I may need to go up to 70%. I'm aware that you can still post during a powerdown or no club status. However, due to some personal circumstances, I haven't been able to write recently, but I hope to start again next week.
