Anonymous aren't a group or a bunch of people who can hack anonymous is an idea it might be dying but true anonymous won't use their skills to make money like some "anonymous" groups do.
They do not reveal themselfes, their actions do not get coverage casuse that's not what they want, they help the helpless and this is not a fight over who uncovers the most or something like that 4chan is a completely different thing it has nothing to do with anonymous you can't compare onions to potatoes.
But yeah unfortunately many people make claims being anonymous and all that stuff and their just a bunch of script kiddies so yeah you could say the idea is dying but do not call a bunch of fake anonyms hippies cause they might be hippies but they are no anons.
also anonymity relies on the way the user uses the technology the same thing you use to find an identity can be used to conceal it
