Why This Girl Tries To Look Like Angelina Jolie?

in anthropology •  7 years ago

I have been quite busy lately so I didn't post for a while. Also I refrain writing anything unless I have something to share. Beginning today I will attempt to answer questions you guys post in comments about a variety of subjects. I will try to make them brief so you won't get bored. Here is the first one.

.....

Body modification has been an integral part of our species since the dawn of civilisation. Humans try to become something or someone else because we can envision different states of ourselves into the future. We also have the ability to see something in a complete different way than someone else. This is how love works after all. Those that touched us appear quite different from the rest.

Body transformation as the one the girl above or the dude on the right is a story of love that deals mostly with themselves. The experience of transformation becomes the only meaning. This is why most people that follow the extreme can never stop.

We are also transformative beings that seek identity from our social circle. Body builders do the same. Wearing a suit in an accepted societal context does the same. Fashion is more or less the ticket to normality aka acceptance. We are all doing it. Since we are all different, most of us will tend to linger in the average transformations while some others will follow the extreme path.

People are stupid, is all what i have to say

Unfortunately humans have extreme cases of abnormality in thinking and these are some examples...issue is that it affects their health in a negetive way. Thanks for sharing, upped... do not forget to see my latest post for a crypto video bounty...happy weekend.

Oh, that looks soooo bad…

Oh, that looks soooo bad…

I think she has done it. Angelina 2095. Perfect match.

because she is stupid. Same applies to other people trying to achieve similar extreme body transformations. A few years ago these people would get mental help but now no, we have to accept, embrace and sometimes even pay (through tax money) their stupid transformations.

Oh my...he looks terrible. Even if I had all the money in the world I would NOT do this to myself. He looked so much better before he had all his surgery. We live in a very sad world. People think that they need to look a certain way instead of working on themselves to start to try and be a better person.

20-30 years ago this guy would be closed in a mental facility and get proper care. Now his transformation is encouraged & celebrated in the media while viewers laugh at him. Without proper care, he will probably end seriously malformed and kill himself (either by suicide or by having too many surgeries) in a matter of years or something. It's not him to blame, it's the society.

But he should have some common sense. He is the one agreeing to this and we can surely not blame a society for that?

he is mentally ill, we can't expect from a mentally disabled person to take good decisions for themselves much like we can't expect from a quadriplegic to...walk

You are right there, but surely doctors should have the decency to tell him to stop or refuse to do any further surgeries on him. But for them I suppose it is all about the money. If he is willing to pay whatever, then the situation gets difficult. We live in a very sick world.

we are all products of our environment (and the society we live in), and we all contribute to the reproduction of society in some way. You can't really separate the individual from society or vice verse. One does not exist without the other. Can we blame society? In some ways, yes. He received the ever present message that a person's appearance is the most important characteristic they posses. Is it any surprise that people go to extremes to achieve what they see as a perfect aesthetic?

Crazy people, who want to be someone else. This people throw away their personality. They cant loving herself in natural, that are a lot of sad stories in the world.

Having a mentor or an icon one looks up to is cool and aspiring to be like them is even nicer. Although, there should be a limit to how people pushes above their limit to be like a particular person they've always looked up to.
The young girl made a damn costly mistake to have undergone such surgery.
Imagine the level of damage done. Really a foolish act she did.
Well, i think young people should aspire to be themselves and aim higher to achieve better than their mentees.

It looks terrible... this girl looks like dead Angelina Jolie... I don't understand why people act like that?

She should have cut off her right boob to look exactly like her lol close enough 😂😂

What a fan ship
Amazing

I know it is a horrible thing to be saying about someone but she actually looks more like Golum.

Looks like ghost of Angelina Jolie...

is that 'dude on the right' real...or is it photoshopped?

I hope he's photoshopped. lol

Looking like a zombie.
GOD has make us very beautiful. we should not try to change our original shape.

I just googled to see more pictures of the "Jolie double". WTH have I just looked at?

OK guys, it was all just a prank. We can go home now.

I believe body modifications are okay if you're doing it to build a better "you," but if you're just doing it to emulate someone else, then you'll never be happy with the results and always seek out something more. This actually reminds me of a segment I saw once about a guy who had muscular implants to look like he worked out. As time went on and his arms changed size, they just started to look awful and disproportionate.

I saw this on instagram the other day and i was mortified. I don't understand why someone would want to be someone else. We are all unique individuals and should truly LOVE ourselves because no one can replicate us!!!

I never understood why anyone would want to destroy their body by not eating or taking a great deal of chemical to changes there body appearance as bodybuilders do. Thanks for sharing. stop in to see my latest post you have my vote

You bring up a great topic. Exactly how do folks judge what’s okay for another to modify? A suit is okay and some makeup, but tattoos, hair color, plastic surgery? I say to each is own if it’s not causing harm to others.

Well look at the bright side of someones life choices, she can always Cosplay as the Corpse Bride & make up to $150,000 a year. Get some of that money back. looking.jpg
