"Over the river and through the woods" is a perfect phrase to start a blog about a business situated in the middle of the Poconos. Besides, the name of the place is Gram-ma's Country Corner. Located at 2608 Route 940 in Pocono Summit, GCC is part gift shop, antique store, tasting room and museum. Merchandise is categorized throughout this little farm house within several rooms, as well as the front and back yards (which includes a garage filled to capacity).

You are probably wondering about my museum statement! Right in the middle of one of the rooms is an outhouse. You can't utilize it because it is always occupied. When opening the door, you are confronted by Randy (not a real person) who proceeds to give you a speech about how he is taking care of his business etc. etc. I believe you get the drift. There are also other little surprises throughout the place.
The place has dips, jams and jellies and some good old-fashioned countrified cider and other spirits, which I believe some of those spirits are still walking around. Tastings of certain promotional items are offered in one of the back rooms.
They have the largest collection of ornamental roosters and chickens you will ever observe in a retail location. By large, I mean their size as well as variety. Some of the product found here includes candles, furniture, soaps, signs, paintings and decorations for your bar. Listing those items still barely touches the surface.
I had the pleasure of meeting Gram-ma. However, she employs an entire army of grandmas. Sometimes, you could see one of them flagging cars down in the middle of the road. So, if you find yourself with some free time in the Poconos, it is worth a trip to Gram-mas Country Corner, whether for a gift, a treasure hunt, a search for some oddities or just a laugh. Because of their limited hours, I would call them at (570) 216-3350 before you head out.
