This is a ships compass from a Royal Navy Second World War Torpedo Boat. It's in it's transport case and would be placed in a brass housing called a Binnacle on the bridge of the ship when in Use. You can tell it is Royal Navy Issue because the case has a PATT number stencilled on it indicating it was issued with a specific stock number from royal Navy stores. The glass has a crack in it which does devalue the piece a little. Retail value around 60 GBP.
