The Federal Communications Commission FCC has disclosed an official document "Notification of Harmful Interference" that a Brooklyn-based mining facility in New York interfered with T-Mobile's LTE network by transmitting harmful radio emissions to the band 700 MHz telecommunication.
Antminer Intervenes With The LTE Network
The FCC observed in a paper published on February 15 that a complaint was received from T-Mobile on November 30 about potential interference with its mobile network. An investigation by the FCC found that a Bitcoin Miner, "Bitmint's Antminer s5 Bitcoin Miner" was interfering with T-Mobile's LTE network. On November 30, 2017, in answer to New York Bureau's Office of Inquiry officers confirmed by direction identification techniques, 700 MHz radio broadcasts came from your Brooklyn, New York residence. When the interference was broken, the obstruction finished. You recognized your device as an Antminer s5 Bitcoin Miner. The tool generates false emissions on the frequencies attributed to T-Mobile's broadband network and causing harmful interference.FCC has pointed out that interference with the mobile network of the telecom’s network by using Bitcoin mines is against federal laws and that the failure to interrupt operations or prevent the device from emitting harmful radio emissions in T-Mobile's LTE network is a violation of FCC standing orders. The operator of a radiofrequency machine shall cease to operate the device after notification by a Commission representative that the device causes dangerous interference. An operation will not be resumed until the status causing harmful interference is corrected, FCC stated, adding that the device can continue to work if it stops the emission of harmful emissions affecting local networks.
Bitcoin Miners
The most mining facilities and mining centers are positioned in cold climates and cheap sources of electricity. Miners tend to move to regions like Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Canada as plentiful sources of renewable energy. Countries like Iceland, which have practically all the electricity generated by hydropower plants and solar power plants, have cheap electricity available to miners, which leads to a significant decrease in operating costs. Also, miners rarely base their operations in cities like New York, due to valuable land, resources, and electricity. New York is the sixth valuable city regarding real estate, based on square-foot. Therefore, cryptocurrency miners do not base their operations or establish mining facilities in New York State. In the past, there have been no reports of mining installations that interfere with LTE and large-scale mobile telecom's networks, as the vast majority of mining facilities does not set in crowded cities or regions. It is very likely that new generation mining gear and ASIC chips will not generate harmful emissions affecting local networks. The device announced by the FCC is Antminer s4 from Bitmain, launched in 2014. Bitmain, the company that produces the Antminer series, has already has launched Antminer s9. Mining competitors such as Halong Mining have also begun to create more sophisticated mining gear that could reduce the likelihood of miners conflicting with mobile networks.Posted from my blog with SteemPress : https://247cryptonews.com/bitcoin-mining-facility-interferes-with-t-mobiles-lte-payment-verification-network/
