Some of the water on the Moon may have come from Earth's atmosphere.

NASA intends to launch a crew of astronauts to the moon in 2025, with the mission of constructing the first-ever lunar scientific facility. It's a lofty goal born of the agency's larger Artemis objective, of which the launch of Artemis I this year is the first crucial stage.

But, in order to build and dwell in any form of science fiction extraterrestrial space station, humanity must first survive. We also require water to survive.

That's why, according to an article published in the journal Scientific Reports last month, a group of experts has some exciting news for future moon astronauts. According to their calculations, the moon may hold a lot more water than previously thought — and it appears to have started on Earth.
