Gate Thursday

in appics •  5 years ago  (edited)

Gate Thursday with @erikah This is a gate in our street. It's obviously not been used in a very long time as it's overgrown with plants and trees.

The house behind the gate stands empty, looking at the state of it I'm guessing probably more than a few years.

It makes me wonder what happened to the people who owns it. Many houses in our neighborhood are standing empty. It's a thing here in Mauritius.

The photo was taken with my Huawei 16mp phone camera.

Hello @dkkarolien, if that is happening in many cities people travel to look for better opportunities in other cities or countries and leave their houses closed in case they have to return or hope to return with some savings. Happiness always

@marinmex that is probably true. In Mauritius a lot of the people live in the city and build a house by the sea. Taken into account the size of. This tiny island it doesn't make much sense but that's what they do. Also a lot of the locals are abroad in the UK or France and then only return once they retire. Sad to see all the closed off homes. Thanks for stopping by. 😊

Now that’s a beautiful gate! It’s like a magic portal to an enchanted land with those green fronds hanging down. The brickwork looks very noble as well, it’s a shame the house stand empty I am sure many people would love to live there. !COFFEEA 15

Why thank you. I often wonder what goes on but obviously there's no one living there. I've got another photo of the main gates that I will share shortly thank you for stopping by ☺️
