Coffee Critic Culture: Sumatra Mandelhing - Tantara Farms (Springfield, MO)

in appics •  5 years ago  (edited)

This particular Sumatra Mandheling is not nearly as green in initial aroma and flavor as I expect and prefer from wet-hulled coffees, but this clean-cup, low-acid, medium roast has a lovely aftertaste of lingering dark chocolate and mild green pepper. Overall Total Score: 78/100. Full in-depth tasting notes, scoring guide and links available on Steemit.com.

Closing Notes:

Because I drink a lot of coffee and I have a relative sensitivity to caffeine, sometimes I will blend the beans I prepare in my regular coffee maker with a decaf Columbia medium roast from Amazon...both to extend the life of my good beans, and so I can drink more of it. I honestly prefer the taste of this particular coffee blended with the Columbia to its individual taste.

Mmmm, sounds really delicious, love dark chocolate and coffee, I bet the aromas are fantastic!

The aroma (particularly of the whole beans and fresh grounds) and the aftertaste are really the highpoints of this one. It really does smell amazing. ☕️

Sounds awesome, nothing smells better then fresh ground coffee!
