(Sorry for the external link. I fucked up the Appics integration.)

This is an animated light painting picture taken with a 360 degree camera during an exposure time of 60 seconds in total darkness.

Tools that I used:

  • A stick made from acrylic glass with different colored foils and a small, but strong torch attached to it to create the freestyle waves.

  • A programmable LED stripe with a small Powerbank attached to stick to make the Stars.

The nice thing about 360 degree light painting is the many possibilities for viewing after the work is finished. I especially like the "Tiny Planet" view. From this view I made an endless loop that gives the whole picture a lot more depth.

Enjoy the ride and after seeing it let me know how you feel in the comments

About Light Painting:

Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
