... over. A strong wind tore through the area and I am surprised this is the only thing that happened. This section of Powerlines is literally out in the middle of nowhere. There were only 15-20 customers effected by the outage. No fire just an old rotten pole finally decided to give way. I am sure glad we were able to open and close the line at certain locations in order to isolate this section of line. Backfeeding from another direction allowed us to get power to all customers effected. This section with the downed pole is de-energized. The wind was still howling and getting up to that ridge to change that pole wouldn’t have been fun. Hopefully come Monday we don’t get a bunch of rain and we can replace the pole and get the line switched back to normal. Aaahhh the life of a Lineman

Lol, your post title is hilarious the way appics broke it up.
Good thing there was bypass switches nearby and looks accessible but totally a wind blown hill. I imagine there are a large number rotten old poles out in the middle of nowhere through the state.

It’s tough to justify changing 100 poles when all they feed is 2 customers. We do have a “program” where the company’s sets aside $$ for those types of situations. It’s like a “this stuff is garbage and needs changed out fund” lol

Hey, it beats sitting at a desk... except maybe when there is sideways rain and I have to climb a pole to fix something... maybe just maybe would I rather be at a desk... at second thought... nope can’t do it. Lol. That is one of the many things I live about my job, variety.

Yes, you seem to have it down by now, do what you love and you'll never work another day.😊
