To make it more interesting:

As of 2014, the exact lifespan of a lobster is unknown, but scientists have estimated that a European lobster's lifespan averages 31 years for males and 54 years for females.

and

The world record lobster was 44.3 pounds, similar sized lobsters can get 5 feet long, but those lobsters were only halfway thru lobster maximum lifespan of 100. They never stop growing.

and

Scientific studies showed that in the wild, an average male lobster could live up to 31 years while a female one can survive up to 54 years. However, some tough species like the American lobster ( Homarus americanus ) can live up to 140 years!

...but thanks to us, most only live a couple of years.

PS: Despite this comment, I love lobster, grilled or with cheese and mushroom sauce.
