... Japan, the hat is called sugegasa (菅 笠); in China dǒu lì (斗笠) and in Vietnam Nón lá. The Mekong River is the tenth longest river in the world and I saw this man near the Can Tho floating markets. The river originates in Tibet and flows into the South China Sea. The Vietnamese call it a "river of nine dragons" because it spills into a large number of shoulders. The annual deposits increase the Mekong by up to 79 meters.

V typickém klobouku nošeném nejen ve Vietnamu jsem potkal tohoto pána na deltě řeky Mekong. V Japonsku se klobouk nazývá sugegasa (菅笠), v Číně dǒu lì (斗笠) a ve Vietnamu Nón lá. Řeka Mekong je desátou nejdelší řekou světa a já pána uviděl nedaleko plovoucích trhů Can Tho. Řeka pramení v Tibetu a ústí do Jihočínského moře. Vietnamci jí říkají „řeka devíti draků“, protože se rozlévá do velkého množství ramen. Každoroční usazeniny zvětšují Mekong až o 79 metrů.
