What will the new MacBook look like?


The launch of the new MacBook is likely in the second half of this year. Renowned IT tipster John Prosser predicted that Apple would unveil the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros at WWDC on June 7. WWDC is usually a software-focused event. But new hardware products were announced in 2019, including the Mac Pro.

Earlier, Bloomberg News also reported that Apple will release the new MacBook Pro this summer. Nikkei Asia cited an anonymous source, saying, “Apple entered mass production of the next-generation processor in April,” and said that it is expected to be shipped in July and installed in the new MacBook Pro.

Equipped with Apple Silicon M1X


Apple is currently using Intel processors in its 16-inch MacBook Pro. According to the industry, this year’s performance will be significantly improved by installing the new silver Apple silicon M1X processor. Bloomberg reported that Apple is currently developing two chips with different codenames. There are 10-core include 8 high-performance cores and 2 power-efficient cores. It is also speculated to support GPUs with more than 16 cores and up to 64 GB of memory.

What about Features?


A flat design similar to that of Apple’s tablet PC and iPad Pro will be applied. Compared to its predecessor, it has a flatter and more angular design. The screen size is 14 inches instead of 13 inches. According to the industry, the 14-inch MacBook Pro will have a larger display than the 13-inch model, but the main body size will be almost the same by reducing the peripheral bezels. It will has a mini light emitting diode display. Apple adopted mini LED for the first time in its iPad Pro in April. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst specializing in Apple, expects Apple to introduce mini-LED technology to the MacBook Air next year, starting with the new MacBook Pro this year.

The external connection port is also different. It supports various ports such as HDMI port, SD card reader, and MagSafe charging in addition to the existing Thunderbolt/USB-C port. The Touch Bar turns into a physical function key.
