When the first iPhone went on sale on June 29, 2007, no one could dream of how it would change the world.
At that time, Apple CEO Steve Jobs described it as three products in one, which is a widescreen iPod with touch controls, revolutionary mobile phones and breakthrough internet communication devices.
Ten years since then, the iPhone has grown into an indispensable item in many people's lives, replacing the need for maps, radios, cameras and even cash.
Apple has sold more than one billion iPhones worldwide. But when the iPhone celebrates its 10th anniversary, many are asking what the next 10 years are still in store.
Here are some innovations that can be queued over the next decade.
The key to your life
Given the increasing number of taps and payments with mobile phones, it does not seem to be surprising to use your iPhone as your hotel room key, your home or your car. Some hotels like Hilton, have adopted this technology.Proof of identity
If you have an e-passport, you're probably already familiar with the idea of your identity stored on microchips. Now you can store all your tickets and credit cards on your iPhone.
IPhone already has the ability to scan your fingerprints and Apple is rumored to be working on other biometric technologies such as iris scanning. The next obvious step is for the iPhone to be proof of your identity.
- High-tech housekeeper
Apple has taken steps to become a hub for "smart homes" with the launch of HomeKit software, which lets users control lights and heating with their iPhone.
Garden hoses, pet food dispensers and robotic vacuum cleaners, will all be controlled in the same way. So you can take care of all the housework, just from the comfortable couch or while you're at work.
"IPhone owners are likely to find themselves walking in a state of sleep to a situation where the iPhone becomes a remote control for their smart home," said Ben Wood, analyst at CCS Insight.
- Virtual Secretary
Siri is smart enough, but as Apple keeps improving its artificial intelligence technology, the better it will be to manage your life.
Finally, you may not need to add an appointment to the diary at all. Siri will scan your emails and messages, determine where you should be and when, and suggest the best route to get there or order a taxi automatically.
- Digital Doctor
From Fitbit to Apple Watch, digital health monitoring has been done on a large scale, and many people are now tracking their calories and sports with their phones.
As the iPhone gets better at analyzing this data, it can begin to build a more comprehensive picture of your health, and remind your doctor of potential problems and diseases before they happen.
