US technology company Apple establishes a $ 300 million net fund for clean energy in China. In cooperation with its suppliers, it wants to invest in renewable energy projects over four years, which would supply up to one million households in the country, the company said.
Ten suppliers, including Pegatron and Wistron, will take part in the investment of the iPhone phone manufacturer.
Apple produces most of its devices in China, which it sells around the world including the United States. At the same time, China is one of the most important retail markets for the company, although it faces growing competition from local manufacturers.
For the Chinese government, reducing pollution is a key priority, and it is pushing local and international companies to reduce the high level of smog in large cities and clean up waterways and contaminated soil.
Apple is getting a lot of work in this direction - at the beginning of April, it announced that its devices around the world are 100 percent powered by pure energy. These are retail outlets, offices, data centers and other facilities in 43 countries, including the US, Britain, China and India.
