Monochrome Monologues: A Homeric Homage to Gaming in Middle America PreY2K [Poem 1 - Aztec]

in apple •  8 years ago  (edited)

Living in the big blue Victorian
The creaking descent on ancient oak stairs for Twix bars.
Is unique compared to the tack-tack-tack of Enter If You Dare
Did everyone have that computer room?
Slathered in esoteric books your parents read in the 60s
Chinese carpet, The Joy of Sex, Photos of you being Born, WTF.
Hyper-modern accoutrements were VHS tapes, cassettes, Dot Matrix.
But I digress...it all comes back to Aztec
On YouTube now it appears most of us had no strategic vision
Maybe we were just too damn young.
But we walked through walls, broke the code instead
Drowned slowly in syntax error BLONK!
Blew shit up like frogs at Cape Cod (one time)
I found the II or IIGS outside on the porch one Winter visiting from far away
In an industrial plastic storage bin from Home Depot, half-covered in a dry snow
Being archived at the start of a New England December

Hi all. Commenting to verify that @sirlordcomic is a real person and not a robot. We've been friends since high school. Glad you decided to join Steemit @sirlordcomic :)

Loving this concept, and trying to learn more about CC along the way. My 10 year old is getting interested too.
