Apple launched the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR last night while you were going to sleep. This was a global launch of the phones, and in India the three phones are coming soon. In India, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max will go on sale from September 28, and the iPhone XR will be on sale from October 26. This is all good news. The bad part? The iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Plus and the iPhone XR are really expensive in India.
The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are expensive everywhere. In the US, the price of the iPhone XS starts at $999 while the price of the 64GB iPhone XS Max is going to be $1099. The iPhone XR, meanwhile, will sell at a price of $749. But in India, the prices set a new benchmark. The iPhone XS Max is the first iPhone that has a starting price of over Rs 1 lakh at Rs 109,900. The iPhone XS will come in at Rs 99,900. And even the iPhone XR, which is supposed to be the affordable iPhone this year, will debut in India at a price of Rs 76,900.
Ouch! These phones are pricey. But why?
