The US Department of Justice in California arrested a 37-year-old woman who used spy applications to track and monitor her friend's phone and tried to recruit someone to kill him.
According to the court's complaint, the woman, named Rashida Johnson Turner, is inciting the murder of her 55-year-old grandfather for a life insurance policy worth 150,000 US dollars.
According to court documents, Rachida Johnson was afraid her boyfriend would know another girl and she lost the insurance policy. Spy apps were used to monitor him constantly, whether he was meeting another girl or not. Her boyfriend claimed that she had hired someone to kill her love, however, failed, and after her arrest she admitted that she was also planning to kill herself.
It also acknowledged that it installed spyware applications to track its location and movements. After the court handed down its verdict, Rashida Johnson may face a 10-year sentence.
