What does this mean.?

It means you bought near the ATH after STEEM just hit the exchanges and some people wanted to take profits they made off the $1.7 million bootstrap phase prior to 7/4/16.

The price continued to decline and many wanted to maximize their rewards and others, who like you perhaps, purchased too high they started selling as well. When this happens it can cause others to panic, and they to begin to sell.

Mostly though, the downward pressure, I believe, is more due to having a lot of new people who are unfamiliar with cryptocurrency simply wanting to be "rewarded for their post" as they were told before they arrived. It was Steemit's marketing.

So people taking their rewards and low demand for STEEM combined with outside downward pressure from people with enough followers to keep others away.

That is, until STEEM reached the price most felt it was now undervalued and that was around .07c apparently. Currently, STEEM is valued around .20c USD.

I hope this sums up everything and answers your question. Please keep in mind, I could be completely wrong, this is only my opinion and what I observed to the best of my ability.
