THE HEART BREAKING PRANK
It wasnt fun anymore when my prank went wrong. The last year April fools day taught me not to play prank anymore. It is exactly a year today that I played the most expensive prank on my girlfriend by sending her a PDF document titled my wedding invitation. I took my time to design it and made it look so real putting my name as well as an imaginary feminine name that came to my mind when designing the card.
I believe she went through the first 3 pages of 4 and everything looked so real to her. She did not take a look at the last page where I put the April fool for her to know its a prank.
On receipt of the invitation, she said seriously? I replied yes. She said is it a joke? I said its no joke. Then she busted out in words that are now haunting my heart.
Little did I know that she had been warned about me. She totally poured out her mind without holding a thing back, telling me its not my fault for taking her for granted. That she was warned that I cant be trusted but she allowed the warnings to fall on deaf ears.
Furthermore, I started calling her to explain that its a prank of April fool that she should check the last page (page 4) of the I.V. sent. All attempt to call proved abortive as she had my calls dropped. I decided to send a text message for her to go through the 4th page of the documents but she ignored my message thinking I'm only trying to justify my actions afterall.
I became saddened for playing such an expensive prank on her that I went too far to make the card real. Now she neither wants to read my text messages nor answer my call.
The following morning, it came to my mind to send her a message on the same platform where she received the card. Knowing well she would go over to see the card as often as possible. Without hesitation, I sent her a message on whatsapp chat to check the last page. Then she realized it all to be a prank of April fools.
In any event, if it were to be real/true that I'm sending her a wedding invitation could this be her true reaction? One thing is now obvious from the occurrence, she doesnt trust me . She has only been playing along all this while. This seems obnoxious to me .
Just within few days, my feelings for her is changed very fast, I lost my trust for her. Following the event, I have been pensive about our relationship thinking things would never work out. I expected a reaction actually by playing such a prank but not in the very way she reacted.
Telling me she had been warned about me is a signal that things cant work out or that she has been playing prank on me as well or that she is not taking me serious. No one in genuine relationship would act like she did. Then it became my turn to act otherwise by turning down her entreaty.
Suddenly, we both turned strangers of one another. After weeks of silence, she decided to take the bold step of apologizing.
At last, she asked, can I have you as a friend? I know things cant be the same anymore. So, I promised myself never to play a prank on anyone anymore as 2 years relationship ended in deadlock within few days.
Now we are just friends.
