سأتحدث عن هذه المدينة قليلا، هذه المدينة تقريبا هي الوحيدة التي لازلت تحتفظ بالطابع الذي يمزج بين الإرث العربي الإسلامي والتاريخ الأمازيغي مدينة تشتهر بعذوبة مائها الذي ينساب من نبع جبلي هو نبع رأس الماء إليه يلجأ الزور والسائحون للاسترخاء بين جنبات جداوله وهم يسترقون السمع إلى خرير المياه أو يبحثون بأرجلهم عن شعور بالانتعاش اما هل المدينة فلهم في ماء النبع مآرب أخرى تحكي أسطورة محلية أن الماء يخرج من كهف سكنت في جمعية اسمها حنا مسعودة كانت توزع على الأطفال قطعا ثمينة ليسلموها إلى أمهاتهم اللائي كن يغسلن الصوف في النبع لكن عملية التوزيع كانت تتم مرة واحدة فقط فإن أشارت إحدى الأمهات على طفلها بالعودة إلى الكهف طلبا للمزيد كانت العفريتة ترميه في النبع هذا ما تقوله الأسطورة التي يعتبرها بعض المؤرخين درسا ضد الطمع والجشع يقول أهل شفشاون إن نبع رأس الماء هو حجر الزاوية الذي انطلقت منه مغامرة بناء مدينتهم والنبع مازال إلى يومنا هذا المورد الوحيد الذي يوفر لها
.ماء الشرب أما في الماضي فكان الماء يوفر الطاقة ويسقي الحقول الجبلية
