I just found a brown recluse on my arm!

NO idea where it came from, and I was not hurt, BUT I have to change my shorts, LOL! :)

THAT Woke me up! I would send you a picture, but the spider had a MAJOR exoskeletal failure , so the picture is kind of two dimensional. I feel a little two dimensional myself right now, but I am doing well considering....

That would freak me out! Glad it didn't bite you. That would have been nasty business.

IT DID FREAK ME OUT, LOL! I know how to treat them, so it is a small issue now, but I HATE spiders! :)

I treated a pastors wife, who had five bites in a row on her neck, her doctor sent her home with pain medicine! They were swollen up enough that her head was crooked on her neck. I put a formentation (a wet cotton pad) of comfrey tincture on the bites, and they were gone the next morning. The only remaining was a small pimple that was apparently the first bite. We repeated the same formentation, and in two days that was healed too.

But I am thrilled the little eight legged monster didn't have the time to munch ME!

Comfrey stimulates hyaluronic acid which is the glue the body uses to keep cells bound together. This bite destroys hyaluronic acid, to liquify the tissue, but Comfrey is stronger. :)

I must remember this! I am sure it may come in handy some day, perhaps sooner than I think!

Oh I Hope not! I worry enough about you already! :)

But you should have some comfrey growing locally. It is great for first aid and long term healing use. I rebuilt my shoulder with it.

I hope to find some to plant here on the homestead. I am continually expanding my herb collection.

If you buy the root, get the Russian variant, as it is sterile, and makes no seeds. All you have to do is plant the root. Russian comfrey has twice the level of Allitonin (the active ingredient) in the roots.

If you find the other kind, plant it somewhere you do not care too much about, and let it spread. A tea, from the leaves also makes good plant food.

Thanks, @smithlabs!

Any time Sister! :)

I figured out where the spider came from. I keep a baby blanket next to my chair, so when the dachshunds come up on my lap, I can cover them with the Binkie. They love it, but apparently, so did the spider. It is by the back door (so I can let the monsters in and out) and the spider had easy access! I have to change that!!! :(
