Cox’s Bazaar: An accident on a muddy road left dozens of Rohingya and Bangladeshi dead in Cox’s Bazaar area today (16th June 2018), reports sources.
A vehicle at Gundum area flipped and fell on other 3-4 vehicles, leading to a serious accident there and killed more than a dozen of Rohingya and Bangladeshi.
Up till now death toll couldn’t be cleared and no. of Rohingya and Bangladeshi dead and injured are yet unknown. Different Bangladeshi gov't forces are seen at rescue operations there.
According to our source, a heavy patrol of Bangladeshi security forces are deployed in the area now and common people are unable to access the area for any further queries.

A newly constructed road in Gundum area was severely affected by the ongoing harsh monsoon showers, which left huge pits on the road.
According to locals, accident happened to the worse road condition, which could be avoidable. Most of the roads in the makeshift camps, especially in the newly settled camps are at worse condition.
Moreover, this ongoing monsoon rain and wind have further worsen the condition of transport for the Rohingya refugees.
This sort of avoidable deaths have increased the risk of travelling for the Rohingya residing there and they fear more deaths are yet to be counted in upcoming days.
