Buthidaung: Burmese Military and Border Guard Police (BGP) ordered remaining Rohingya in five village tracts of Buthidaung Township to relocate to a single village on 5th August 2018, report sources.
Separate meetings were held by Burmese military and BGP in Nga Yant Chaung, Mee Kyaung Zay, Dar Bine Sara, Khin Tha Ma and Maung Gyi Taung village tracts with village administrators and remaining Rohingya on the same day.
During the meetings, officials threatened the Rohingya villagers and said they have information on Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) hiding at their villages. Using that excuse, they ordered the villagers to leave their own homes and accumulate in one village.

They further added that they need to surround them (ARSA) from all four sides by deploying the military in those villages. To deploy a huge number of forces in those areas they allegedly needed to evacuate the Rohingya villages.
Following this unjust order, Rohingya there are extremely worried and have no choice but to follow this order.
“Whenever they want to do something illegal they always use ARSA’s name as it’s easy to label any Rohingya with ARSA,” explains a village member from Mee Kyaung Zay village tract.
Rohingya villagers have been expelled from their villages since decades, either by force or through land confiscation by Burmese authorities.

Rohingya living in camps or in Arakan (Rakhine) are battling their own issues in both areas, so solutions to Rohingya’s ongoing genocide seems difficult to imagine presently.
Coming 25th August 2018 will make an end of a year of more than 800,000 Rohingya lingering and suffering in makeshift camps of Bangladesh.
