Sega Rally Arcade PSU - Faulty

in arcade •  6 years ago

So the original power supply in my Sega Rally Championship arcade machine died... well.. more like caught on fire..

I seem to be having a lot of this recently...

Check out the damage!

This is the underside of the power supply.. as you can see, well charred

So I took the pcb out, and gave it a bit of a clean to see how much damage was done..

It looks like these resistors may have been involved....

After cleaning up some more, we can see that the circuit board has burned right through.. not worth repairing...

So I de-soldered the header off the pcb, and then started soldering wires to it, to create a harness.

This can now be used with a regular arcade power supply that you can pick up off ebay for about AUD$25

To find an original power supply seems to be around the AUD$400 mark..

Hopefully this will work..
