Greetings. September First has came & went. I was very excited about today’s expected release of proposed revolutionary cryptocurrency rideshare & commerce platform, Arcade City. I downloaded the new app to my Android phone tonite, but couldn’t log in. I found their Facebook page and saw the following video from project leader Christopher David.

In that video, Chris David promises to finish a few last touches before opening up the login function to new users. -- But first, he said, he has to get some sleep, and go to a party. C. David had been awake for 36 hours straight, working on the software, he explained.
Seemed reasonable enough. But I was curious, so I dug a little deeper for more news about what is going on with this Arcade City phenomenon. That’s when I found several damning articles which claimed that the whole scheme is allegedly a giant fraud.
Why Austin’s ‘Anti-Uber’ start-up is probably doomed

An American Fraudster : The Dirge of Christopher David, CEO of Arcade City

And, that the company founder is a fugitive at large under wanted for arrest for in New Hampshire.

With that new information in mind, I began to wonder if the voluminous case history levied against Mr. Christopher David (aka Christopher Pille, according to one former colleague/creditor/victim), might cast serious doubt on his -- and the Arcade City Venture’s --credibility.
We certainly shall see over the next few days, won’t we?... I’m starting to have my suspicion that the accusers are correct about this guy. Something in the way his eyes dart around at the end of tonite’s video, when he promises to deliver the following day. A shifty look runs across his face, you can call it. Go see for yourself, at the very end.

Now pay close attention to the infamous Five Minute Pitch on YouTube, which calls for $2 million in funding, but critics claim only raised $250K. Note how it uses logical deflection; rather than explain specifics, promoters instead attacks Uber and glosses over important details.
...peer to peer relationships will take many forms, reflecting a dynamism that we cannot fully describe right now, kind of like a city... where peer to peer transactions are not characterized by friction, but by fun, with gamification and points and prizes. A fun city, that is rewarding on many levels.
Sounds like a carnival, with plenty of opportunity for shills, snake oil, and sleight of hand. Look I don’t have any money invested in this, but others do, or might. If the detractors and naysayer are correct, then the past will most certainly repeat itself, this will all vanish in a puff of smoke.
Although I was happy to get optimistic about such a wonderful idea, perhaps it was too good to be true. Like the promise of lifetime rides -- in helicopters -- for the initial angel investors. Sadly, it seems to me, at this point in time, that there is no software; that the app I downloaded tonite was an empty dummy shell, and Arcade City is nowhere near offering the platform we all were promised, to crush Uber & Lyft using nothing but dreams and shoestring
I still hope he proves me wrong, though...
Thanks for this summary of AC and their founder. I still have hopes too, but damn.
