Quartz encrusted megaliths (dolmens)

in archaeology •  7 years ago  (edited)

A beautiful dolmen located in Normandy, France, with a North to South orientation, the stones were encrusted in crystal quartz, inside at the very back was a flat faced stone mostly covered in moss but some parts showed bright white stone white some crystal quartz.

A local mentioned that in the moonlight the stones shine and glisten.

What purpose did these quartz encrusted dolmens serve, could it be pizo electric properties which quartz contains?
