Malaysia Car Plate comes to the third series, today we talk about the situation in East Malaysia:
本系列大马车牌来到第三期，我们横跨南中国海谈一谈东马的情况，

先谈一谈马来西亚第一大州属-砂拉越 Sarawak, 由于Sarawak 每个字母都被其他州属用了，而S也被沙巴使用了，所以砂拉越的车牌是以Q为首。【砂拉越代表 @janicechua @kadishakho @ygrj】。（呵呵 这Q车牌个人觉得蛮特别的）
First we talk about Sarawak- The largest state in Malaysia. As all the alphabets in Sarawak already being taken by other states, "S" also taken by Sabah state, so Sarawak car plate is using "Q" (Personally I think Q plate is very cute) [Sarawak rep:@janicechua @kadishakho @ygrj ]

由于砂拉越的领土很大，大得几乎跟整个大马半岛一样大，所以砂拉越跟沙巴一样，车牌的第二字母又代表不同的城市。例如QA 是首府古晋，QS 是诗巫Sibu, QM 美里Miri，QB 民都鲁 Bintulu 。
As Sarawak state is very large in its territory, almost as big as the whole peninsula Malaysia, so together with Sabah state, Sarawak's car plate second alphabet represents different town/city. For example, QA represents Kuching, QS is Sibu, QM is Miri & QB is Bintulu.

接下来则是沙巴，前面已提到，那里的车牌以S为首（乍看之下会误以为新加坡车牌，得细看才分辨出来-新加坡车牌字体比较粗）【沙巴代表： @bboyady @amanda8250 @bitrocker2020】
Next is Sabah. As mentioned earlier, the car plate there starts with "S" (At first glance, easily thought it's Singaporean car- you have to see clearly to differentiate as Singapore car plate font is bolder) [Sabah rep:@bboyady @amanda8250 @bitrocker2020]

沙巴车牌也是细分城市，首府亚庇SA, 不过我觉得沙巴那里的车牌好像比较复杂，有些最后一个字又是英文字母，有点像新加坡车牌呢。（各位看官，知道以下照片是不是来自山打根呢？）
Sabah car plate also differentiated by cities. Capital Kota Kinabalu is SA . And I think the Car plate system in Sabah is more complicated- some with an alphabet at the last as those in Singapore and some don't (Those familiar with Sabah, can advise if these cars in photos below from Sandakan?)

十多年前，在半岛是极难看到Q与 S （沙巴）车牌的，因为需要运过海，所以没多少人那么干。现在车牌投标有点松懈了，吉隆坡一带不难找到Q与S车牌，我自己都有朋友本身是柔佛人，可是为了好号码，而标得沙巴车牌（本来困扰着那里找来砂拉越沙巴车牌可以照相）。
10 yeas plus ago, it's super rare to see a Sarawak/Sabah registered car in Peninsula Malaysia, as one needs to ship the car over South China Sea- most wouldn't do it if not needed. But nowaday they have modified the plate bidding system- it's not difficult to see cars with "Q" & "S" in Klang Valley. One of my friends from Johor bid for Sabah plate as he likes certain number.

沙巴亚庇岸外还有个免税岛、大马联邦第二个直辖区-纳闽 Labuan，既然是直辖区了，也就有自己特别的车牌号了- L。【纳闽岛代表：@nickychu】
There is a duty-free island at Sabah- The second federation territory Labuan Island- as its status of federation territory, Labuan has its own plate -L [Labuan rep: @nickychu]

虽然自己也去过纳闽岛，可是就是没拍到那里特别的车牌，只好借用他人的照片。
Though me myself went Labuan once, but never took the car plate photo there, so need to take other's photo to show:

有时候当局会推出一些迎合特别事项的车牌，如去年在吉隆坡举行的东南亚运动会，当局推出Rimau 系列，Rimau 是该届东运会吉祥物的名字。
Sometimes the authority also launched some special-event car plate series like this Rimau series- Rimau is the mascot of South East Asia Game 2017 held at Kuala Lumpur last year.
