BISHAN – ANG MO KIO PARK - The Archisteem project (1001 Places to remember)

I’m so fortunate to stay near to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. It’s only 2 bus stops away from my house.

Every evening, I like to take a stroll or jogging in this park because it’s a best place for me to release stress and get away from busy and crowded city.

Let me introduce this lovely park and why it’s so attractive.

Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park is consists of a 62 hectares of land and waterway. It is located in central of Singapore as one of the biggest park in Singapore.

The concrete canal has been naturalised into a 3km meandering river with lush banks of wildflowers and plants, large open lawn, gentle slope with grassy banks under Singapore’s National Water Agency (PUB) ABC Programme (Active, Beautiful and Clean Waters Programme).

It’s a good spot for communities to picnic and gathering during the weekends. This park also including other landscape zoning such as pond gardens, fitness corners, playgrounds, butterflies garden, reflexology garden, Taichi plaza, pergolas and crafted benches, cafes and restaurants.

Floodplain is the design concept of this park. The objective is to rebirth the nature of river, park users can get closer to the water and enjoy recreational activities during low water level.

The consultant team of this project has been received 2016 ASLA Professional Award, and this park also received Excellence on the Waterfront Honor Award.

Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park is a vibrant river park which’s creating ecologically value, natural value and flora and fauna habitats for biodiversity. The naturalised and beautiful river providing nature habitats for wildflowers, plants, birds, butterflies and dragonflies.

I love Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park. It’s an incredible spot for nature lovers and exercise enthusiasts. I like to jog along the jogging tracks while enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of river. I can recharge myself after a busy working day.

wow can play water! and beautiful green bird :D

Hi Janice, we're allowed to step in the water when low water level.
The green bird is parrot! I ever see 7 nos of them appear together! :D

Whoa, love to have a park with water feature too! It has been some time since I play in a pond or waterfall in a park!

Thanks @kimzwarch. The concrete canal was converted as naturalised river with slopy greenery bank for receational activities. Its attracting many people to visit this park and getting popular in Singapore.
