I can relate to this topic of overdoing a concept so much. Sometimes I find myself applying a strict concept on my designs. Fortunately I am still in training so more experienced architect help me to improve. But it is very tempting for me as I like to design in a radical way. Bold lines and strange concepts have always been my favorites. It is a walk on the edge and can go wrong easily as shown by the Brasilian syndrome.

Yes, totally agree with you. As part of design process , me too will trying to input some of radical design. Probably that what should make every design have its own unique language.
Probably only proper educating client would resolve Brasilia syndrome.
