Archtrove Travels To UAE - the architecture guide

in architecture •  6 years ago

My Journey to UAE began in Dubai and included a brief 1-hour car journey to Abu Dhabi.

The architecture in the UAE is relatively new in comparison to other countries and has no historical buildings. It has been influenced by Islamic, Persian and Arabian culture. However, an influx of western architects want to put their stamp on the middle east and therefore a lot of famous western architects, such as Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster have buildings in the country.

One of the most famous buildings in Dubai is the Burg Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world. This is a worldwide attraction and allows tourists to venture to the top.

One of the most famous buildings in Abu Dhabi, the capital, is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. This gorgeous white domed beautiful is really a breathtaking sight (if you can get past the tourists).
