We all have read or heard about the 'Medieval era', and it's Agrarian Feudalistic Society. How Serfs and peasants used to live in small ugly huts while those that were higher in the then socio-economic ladder, i.e. The Knights and the Clergies used to live in large luxurious mansions that shinned in the shabby and depressing landscape filled with small ugly wooden huts. What goes often unnoticed is the psychological implications of that kind of a landscape, which is becoming more and more clear as the Medieval Era Feudalistic society is returning back, but with a more sophisticated technocratic twist.
Almost, every country in the Industrializing/Industrialized world have large Cities with Millions of people living in them. But we all know, all the areas of the City aren't same in terms of appearance and glamour. One can not but notice the smaller older buildings and houses, shabby, depressing and decaying, hiding in the large shadows cast by mammoth Tower blocks and Skyscrapers, inhabited by the Technocratic Corporate Sub-Elites. Studying recent human behavior of City Dwellers has made it clear that, a 'Feudalistic Landscape' can indeed create Feudalistic Mindsets, a sense of submissiveness to the higher classes, while simultaneously creating a felling of superiority in the higher classes.
With the advent of Post-Modernist ' Brutalist ' architecture ( referred to as 'fascist/Neo-Marxist' architecture by some ), it is clear that Architecture will not represent different existing cultures, thereby eliminating the emotional attachment of the masses with their cultures, traditions and national values. 'Homes' will not have the warmth it had before, they will be more like an iPhone and less like an well decorated flower vase,minimalist, efficient and straight forward, which will eliminate to some extent, the emotional attachments between the family members, breeding self centered individuals, highly efficient and productive workers who are not held back by emotions, family issues, and will be immune to the coming social crisis caused by the rapid removal or suppression of most human emotions, leaving behind only the sense of superiority and inferiority that emanates from emotional detachment and separation. Those who will not be adapt to this system will develop emotional instability, a potential criminal class, which will be cause of this 'crisis'. 
In the coming decades, we will have a very different society and economy. We will have a Globalized Militarized Corporate system. Industries will be automated and will thus require a very small amount of technicians and engineers to function. Agriculture will be dominated by big Corporations and will also experience tremendous automation and Agrarian society will be extinct forever, i.e. Sub-Urban areas and Rural areas will NOT exist. There will be '3' main classes in the Society: the technocratic serfs working in the 'Unified Corporate state' as engineers, technicians, scientists, teachers, doctors, etc. The Military/ Law enforcement class and the Highest, the Corporate owners and their families. It will be made impossible for people of the lower class to rise up to the highest level. Private properties will be much reduced or entirely reduced. Even the Homes will probably be Corporate owned.
The general population, i.e. the lowest class will live in smaller claustrophobic corporate owned high security high tech tower blocks, that will be designed to keep people depressed. Giant Skyscrapers rising above the boring skyline made for the Technocratic Corporate ruling class, creating a sense of submissiveness in the masses below while keeping them depressed and non resistant and vulnerable to cultural and ideological subversion.
The work places will be glamorous in contrast with the dwelling places thereby resulting in a dopamine/serotonin surge as the workers enter the work place which will maximize productivity and minimize the need for dissent.
Cultural Diversity will be replaced with a cheap synthetic globalized culture for a technocratic global middle class which will be echoed though architecture., Architecture will not only have to adapt to the rapid changes of the society and of the human psychology but will be and is already being used to cause change at the subconscious level. Architecture will be a 'machine' for a world of machine men with machine hearts.
