Melt

in architecture •  7 years ago

It is in a quiet residential area of Osaka, that the design and architecture office SAI has realized 'Melt', a minimalist house with a wavy exterior.
This design is the typical example of Japanese architecture that we love, it takes advantage of the smallest m2 that offers the small plot, it offers bright spaces, spacious and warm and invites nature inside. The client asked SAI Architecture Design Office to create a house that would interact with its environment, but which would also offer green spaces. The building has been designed on narrow terrain, but its double height and bay windows provide a generous and bright space. In the center of the building is a courtyard that divides the north and south volumes of the house. Here, the trees extend from the ground floor to the floor through an atrium.

That double height space, housing the tree is beautiful. Japanese have mastered maximising space and utilising light to open up a building.

The architecture of the building awesome.Really amazing photoshoot!!!!

You shared a lot of photos.BEAUTIFUL photography

Great publication on architecture. As for the design is guided by the purist line of Japanese culture, with simple forms, but that integrate perfectly the different spaces of the house.
