Seto-Hadshi also known as the Great Seto Bridge
This is the biggest two tier bridge in the world, it has a highway, a railway and also built to support Shinkansen. The bridge connects main land Japan with the island of Shikoku. Crossing it by train takes about 20 mins and has made traveling to Shikoku very convenient.
The bridge is 13.1 kilometers long and was completed in 1988. Before this people relied on ferries. On one side there is a museum and memorial dedicated to the bridge. The museum shows material and the construction process and the memorial for those who lost their lives building it.
Once across the bridge you can enjoy island views.

Ah yes. I looked up the location on Google Earth. That would have to be a 11.0 earthquake to have a tsunami go in that far!
