Welcome to steemit. I can't give you the best advice but on steemit you need to interact with people here through posts, comments and up-voting. You can do more research on youtube and google.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
