Today we bring interesting news about the project! We continued working very hard so that the next versions of Arker: The Legend of Ohm are a great step forward in the evolution of the game. As we announced in the last weekly, version 1.4 is very close and almost ready to be sent for review to the Apple Store and the Play Store. We can't give you an exact date because it doesn't depend on us, but we estimate that in about two weeks it will be available for download. 💪

Remember that in this version 1.4, as main feature, we bring the new design for the abilities of the game –that means unique designs for each ability 😱–; this includes a new way to show the ability's information as well as a new design of the miniatures in combat. In addition, we have improved the tutorial to facilitate comprehension and included a new progress bar in the ranks based on the player's ELO, and fixed some bugs we found. 😅We also improved the main screen of the game and added a view of the city on it. Also with this new version the clans are much easier to manage and gains a lot of customisation, allowing them to design their own emblem. This could be one of the biggest updates to date. Thank you for your patience! 🙏
What's next
As we have said on previous occasions, our first great goal has always been, after the game's launch, the story mode. This story mode would allow players to make a solo raid on the Ohm depth in search of deeper adventures than the current online battles. This mode was going to be launched towards the summer of this year coinciding with the game's exit on the Steam platform. However, after much study and discussion with the team, we have made the decision to prioritize the improvement and polishing the current game system, as well as add new characters, abilities and content in general, before focusing our efforts on a new game mode. ⚔️
We believe that the game can gain much more strength if we focus on improving current modes, so we have decided to pause, for the moment, the development of the story mode and we're already focusing our efforts on working and improving the current game mode. The first step has been to add a new member to the team that, as shown in the screenshot below, is taking the game perspective of the current 2D to a 2.5D which will allow us to play with the points of view and add incredible new effects to the game. With this the player will receive much more feedback about what is happening during the battles and that also helps to make the games much more fun. 🎉
In the same way we're working not only on the aspect of the battles, but on improving all the interactivity of the game with the user; this includes the other sections of the game as well as the main menu and interfaces. And therefore we are also putting a lot of effort into the new content, which you already know from the previous sneak-peaks to the Soul Hunter - provisional name-. This week we want to show you an advanced illustration of this new hero in full color (not yet definitive) that will come in future updates. 👀
So, our current roadmap is to launch version 1.4 - with the new features mentioned in the previous section - in two weeks and maintain a rhythm of new biweekly / monthly updates with interesting news in the current game modes, without forgetting the new content (characters, abilities and objects). The next big milestone will come in summer with the launch of the game on Steam and, after this, we will resume the story mode. 👍
