Hello everyone, I would like to show you my entry for @art-venture contest: ANIMAL ART. I painted a frog using coffee and pens.

So here it is: My Coffee Frog Prince

MATERIALS

I used pencils, different types of pen and coffee as the painting medium on a blank journal.

PROCESS

This is a painting of Common Southeast Asian Tree Frog (Polypedates leucomystax). (You can find moreOPhilippine endemic frogs and amphibians on this link. )

First, I prepared all the materials I have on hand. And then started to sketch the frog on my notebook using a pencil.

And then, I finalized the outline of this cute creature using drawing pen.

This part is when I painted the drawing with coffee. I started with a light solution of a coffee and water for the lighter shade of the frog. I painted a another layer on top of each color to achieve darker shades.

And then I added some extra drips for the effects and background.

I used felt-tip pen to elaborate its eyes and the shape and color of its body until I was satisfied with the result of my drawings. I used line hatching and color filling on its skin to create different texture.
