Hello steemians! Its that time of year. Whenever I spin yarn I end up with skines of yarn that just sit around all year with nothing to do. Its at this time of year that I gather that yarn up and start putting them to use! Feel free to join and start your own challenge with your hand-spun.
The rules are as follows:
No more making/buying yarn or fiber until you complete your challenge.
Pull out at least 50% of those skeins of yarn that you just keep overlooking/ignoring and put them in a pile (keep the ones you are saving for that special / planned project).
Choose an item that you love to make (like a hat)!
Pull out your fave patterns and start knitting!
The goal is simple; use up those lazy skeins that are laying around, doing nothing in your stash.
When you have finished off your challenge you are free of the clutter in your stash. You also now need to replenish your stash by making more yarn. See? The circle of life is now complete.
The pic below shows 32 hats knit up during my challenge. It only took me 20 days once I got started! I will post pics of the skeins with pics of the finished hats that resulted.
Hello @partrician1! What a great way to use up that “lazy” yarn! 😅 I think this is a good challenge for anyone that uses yarn and has piles on piles just sitting around. Wow that’s a lot of hats! What do you plan to do with them all?
I would like to invite you to join #needleworkmonday! Anyone that does a craft involving a needle is welcome. Every Monday us needleworkers get together to share our work, ideas, tips, patterns, shortcuts etc and have a great time supporting and encouraging one another!
On Monday’s please use the #needleworkmonday tag and on all other days use the #needlework tag without the word Monday attached. We have fun challenges and we do a weekly curation of featured posts! I would love to see you share more about your spinning and also about cheingora! I have never heard about this until reading your post from last year. It is very interesting and I love the idea of recycling dog sheddings to keep it out of landfills and waterways. I would love to see the process of dying it too! We encourage everyone to share the process of their work to take us along the journey :)
I sure hope to see you on Monday’s! This is @crosheille for the @needleworkmonday community!

Though I don't spin myself I try to use yarn from my stash. But my challenge right now is to finish all the WiPs - my double knit scarf, the cotton hat, the nearly finished sweater I started nearly a year ago...
