I found a dragon in the pumpkin patch...

in art •  6 years ago  (edited)

It had fallen between the sunflowers,

a victim of profound lack of imagination.

Rather smaller than I expected, or perhaps that as well is a sign of the times.

In any case I salvaged enough good hide to make a belt and maybe a wallet or something. There are surprisingly few good resources on preparing and tanning imaginary dragon hide, so I had to wing it. I am pleased with the results!

This dragon hatched out of its egg as a sunflower.

Here are the original two cropped black and white sections of my original sunflower photography that evolved into the dragon hide shared here.

I did my customary blend of PhotoShop manipulation/painting/cloning/rotating/cropping/etc. and layering multiple passes through the DeepDreamGenerator to achieve these results.
