Classical music may not be as popular as it used to be in its golden age from the 17th to early 20th centuries. But it continues to impress and inspire, especially the greatest composers work of all time. Some of them may have lived hundreds of years ago but their work remains unchallenged. And still there to this day. Now @AllAboutArts will discuss about the 10 Most Famous Classical Composers in the World whose works still continue to inspire the composers and musicians today. Who are they? Let's check it out...
1. Giuseppe Verdi
Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi was born in Le Roncole, October 10, 1813 and died in Milan, January 27, 1901 at the age of 87 years. He is a famous Italian composer with his opera that remains popular to this day. His music career, however, did not go well. After the death of his wife and his second opera failure (Un giorno di regno), he fell into despair and almost surrendered in the composer's world at the time. Fortunately, La Scala impressed him to write a great Nabucco. Shortly thereafter, more followed and Verdi made himself the dominant figure of Italian classical music of the 19th century. The most famous Opera Verdi other than Nabucco are La Traviata, Rigoletto, Aida, Don Carlos, Otello and Falstaff.
2. Frederic Chopin
Frédéric François Chopin was born March 1, 1810 and died on October 17, 1849. His birth name is Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin. He is a composer and virtuoso piano player from Poland. He is known as one of the greatest Romantic musicians. Chopin is a very talented child and proves himself to be one of the foremost Polish composers at a very young age. One of the best piano composers and virtuoso pianists in history writing almost exclusively for solo piano. But he also wrote two piano concerts and three sonatas. Chopin is also crowned with the invention of instrumental ballades and some musical innovations. Some of his best works include Nocturne on E-flat major, Op. 9 No. 2, March funeral (Prelate in C minor), Minute Waltz (Waltz on D-flat major), Etude Revolutionary (Op.10, No.12) and Fantasie-Impromptu (Op. Posth 66).
3. George Frideric Handel
George Frideric Handel is a German-born British composer widely regarded as one of the greatest master of the Baroque era and one of the classic British composers. He was born in Halle, February 23, 1685 and died in London, April 14, 1759 at the age of 74. He wrote over 40 operas, 29 oratory, over 100 cantatas, duets and trios, 16 concerto organs and a number of arias, ecumenical pieces, chamber music, odes and serenatas. His greatest works include Oratorio Messiah, Sarabande, Water Music and Music for Royal Fireworks, and many other great works.
4. Igor Stravinsky
Igor Stravinsky is a Russian composer. He is a composer who became famous in TIME magazine. He is a conductor and pianist is one of the most prominent and influential 20th century composers. And he is also a composer who has a hobby of changing taps when exploiting rhythmic elements. He is and is still admired around the world because of the novelty of his works which, however, also caused much controversy in his time. Stravinsky's greatest works include The Firebird, Petrushka, The Rite of Spring, A Soldier's Tale, The Song of the Nightingale, Mavra, Oedipus Rex, the Symphony in C and the Symphony in Three Movements.
5. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is the most famous Russian classical music composer writes in various genres. He was born in Kamsko-Votkinsk, May 7/25 April 1840 and died at St. Petersburg, November 6 / October 25, 1893 He composed symphonies, operas, concertos, chamber music, sacred choir music, offers, suites and ballet. Some of his famous works include three ballets of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and the Sleeping Beauty, Marche Slave, First Piano Concerto no. 1 in B-flat minor, Overture 1812, Symphony No. 6, Fantasy Overture (Romeo and Juliet), Serenade for Strings and opera Eugene Onegin.
