Sphere

In order to build a ball, we need to draw a circle on the sheet. You can use some kind of stencil (scotch, cup, etc.), use a compass or "make by eye". I prefer the latter option, because it is not always possible to find something suitable at hand.

Now let's deal with the volume. We look at the photo and see: the light falls from the left side. Therefore, the sphere can be divided into several zones.

1) highlight, 2) light; 3) semitone; 4) shadow; 5) reflex

We leave the highlight white and toning the light zone. Draw should be in the form of a ball, we should get an ellipse.

Now take the marker a little darker and outline a semitone.

It remains to put your own shadow on the ball. A little do not reach the edge. This is the darkest spot, and it should also be rounded in shape.

The remaining white part is toned in the same color as the semitone. This is a reflex (the reflection of the surface on which our object stands). At us it has turned out here such striped sphere.

If we "smooth" the transitions between the shades, we get a more accurate ball. To do this, take a shade of halftone and go a little to the shadow "blur" the color. The same with the light part.

It remains for us to chart a falling shadow from the ball. We build the same "by eye". The shadow should be darker than a semitone under the ball and "dissolve" in the sheet at a distance from it. Our ball is ready.
