Geometric figures in the sketch with markers. Part 3: Cone. [Full Process]

Cone

With the construction of the cone is also more or less clear: we are conducting two straight lines and "by eye" draw a line of the lower face. Since the base of the cone is a sphere, when projecting it onto paper, we get an ellipse.

And now let's look at the reference. Light falls on the left, so the right side is in the shade. Just need to pay attention to the fact that the closer to the top of the cone - the contrast is brighter.
Let's leave the spot of light untouched and enter light.

Introduce a semitone. The same color, we plan a reflex.

And now the shadow. Do not forget that at the peak of the form the contrast is brighter.

It remains to draw a falling shadow. We plan on the right side, since the lighting is on our left. The shadow must "dissolve" in the sheet.

At the point of contact of the cone and the surface.

And a small video about the cone

That's all) Knowing these basic principles of adding volume to an object, you can draw anything. And any material: pencil, watercolor, pastel, etc. I prefer to draw sketches by markers, because it takes less time for them to work on watercolors or pencil sketches. Well, I like the markers very much.
