Here's a couple of paintings I have done. I just started painting a couple of years ago. It's just therapeutic for me. I've never been very great at art stuff but I really enjoy doing it (or at least attempting)
I mostly like to paint cartoonish things for my daughters room. I made the elephant as a way of announcing her name :)

you don't have to, you just have to be patient and keep on doing stuff in the software of your choice, progressively from the most very basic things to complex (Although I thing if you want to give the same painting feel you just have to learn the brushes and how opacity works).
