My first book illustrations

Hi, guys!
So, as I mentioned in my introduction entry I have graduated from the University recently. I have a bachelor degree in Fine arts now and in my diploma is also written that I can work as an art teacher in regular schools, art schools, art studios etc. Despite the disadvantages of our higher education, there were a few uni tasks of my personal interests during different semesters and the point of one of these was to create book illustrations.

I choose the book I really like a lot when I was a child. It was about the adventures of little chicken by famous Ukrainian poet Tamara Kolomiets.

I designed my own characters. I was trying to find some early sketches recently but unfortunately didn’t found them. Anyways, I don’t think they were interesting because I remember that we haven’t much time for this project and it must be finished pretty soon so I did REALLY inaccurate concept sketches :)

Yes, the book was pretty small, but it was not the point to create a big masterpiece. This was like a little training before some bigger stuff. In my case, it was my diploma work or final project, and I will write about it soon, so stay tuned!
